Privacy Policy

Designed first to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis, while remaining open to anyone who wants a calm and private place to keep track of care.

Last updated: April 29, 2026 · App version: 1.0.8

A private companion, centered on the person using it.

This Privacy Policy explains what MySweetCompanion stores, what permissions it may ask for, when information can leave the device, how Smart Summary works, and how purchase options are handled.

1. What MySweetCompanion is for

MySweetCompanion is a personal care companion. It was designed first to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis through daily records, routines, reminders, and care organization — including medicine adherence tracking, so you can keep a steady record of what you've taken, delayed, or skipped.

It may also be useful to anyone who wants a calm and private place to keep track of their care and medicines.

The app is meant to help you organize personal health-related information. It is not presented as a replacement for medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice.

2. The information you keep in the app

When you use MySweetCompanion, you may choose to save information that helps you stay on top of your day-to-day care and medicine routine. This includes:

  • doctor and clinic details
  • appointments and medical test planning
  • medicine schedules and adherence events (taken, delayed, skipped, missed, and optional notes)
  • journal entries, symptoms, and questions
  • episodes and hospital stays
  • hydration settings and reminder choices
  • hand steadiness session records
  • app preferences such as language, theme, and related settings

3. Where your information is stored

Your records are stored on your device.

Privacy is a core principle of MySweetCompanion. We believe the information you keep in the app should stay with you. MySweetCompanion does not operate its own servers to collect, store, or process the health-related information you keep in the app, or other information you enter into it.

The app is designed so that this information stays on your device, and we do not intend to change that direction.

MySweetCompanion does not provide its own cloud backup for your journals, symptoms, medicine reminders, appointments, hand steadiness records, or other core records.

The app also stores smaller local preferences, such as onboarding state, theme, language, reminder choices, and related settings, so the experience can stay consistent on your device.

Adherence analytics and adherence scoring are computed on-device from the records you choose to keep in the app. MySweetCompanion does not send adherence behavior analytics to its own remote servers.

4. Permissions the app may ask for

MySweetCompanion only uses permissions to support specific features you choose to use.

  • Notifications: for medicine reminders, hydration reminders, appointment reminders, care check-ins, and streak reminders.
  • Health: to read step count for the dashboard, if you allow it.
  • Motion: for hand steadiness sessions, if you allow it.
  • Contacts: when you choose to import doctor details.
  • Calendar: when you choose to add appointments to your device calendar.

If you do not grant a permission, the related feature may be limited or unavailable, but the rest of the app can still be used.

5. Smart Summary and local model use

MySweetCompanion includes a Smart Summary feature that can generate summaries from the records you already keep in the app.

Smart Summary runs on the device. To make that possible, the app may download an auxiliary model file to the device when you turn the feature on. The model file is approximately 1.5 GB and is stored locally for repeated use.

At this time, the downloaded model is Qwen 2.5 1.5B Instruct. The file may be delivered from Hugging Face, then stored locally on the device and used there for summary generation.

The model is downloaded once and reused across app launches. If you delete the app, the model is removed with it and will be re-downloaded on the next use.

The app does not use your entries to train a model inside the app. Your entries are not sent to a cloud processing service to generate Smart Summary content.

6. Medicine adherence and care tracking

The Medicines & Adherence feature helps you record and review your medicine routine — including what you have taken, delayed, skipped, or missed — so you can prepare for care follow-ups.

This feature is for personal organization and follow-up preparation only. It is not intended to diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or replace medical advice.

Adherence analytics and scoring are computed entirely on your device. No adherence data is sent to our servers.

If you export a summary PDF, the exported file may include adherence context and selected related health notes. Exports happen only when you trigger them from within the app.

7. Subscriptions and purchase information

MySweetCompanion offers optional premium features through Apple In-App Purchase.

You may choose between a recurring subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Both unlock the same premium features. Pricing and terms are displayed through the App Store before you confirm any purchase.

Apple handles all purchases, billing, and subscription management directly through the App Store. MySweetCompanion does not collect or store your payment card details.

No health-related information, and nothing you write or save in the app, is sent to us for purchase handling. The app may check purchase status through Apple only to unlock features and restore purchases.

Purchases can be restored on new devices using the same Apple ID. If you use the "Restore Purchases" option in the app, the app contacts Apple's servers to verify your previous purchases.

In the EU, alternative payment options may be available as required by the Digital Markets Act. If applicable, you will be informed within the app before completing a purchase.

8. When information can leave the device

MySweetCompanion does not upload the health-related information you keep in the app, or other information you enter into it, to its own cloud storage.

Information may leave the device only when you choose an action that does that, or when Apple handles subscription-related activity through the App Store.

  • sharing appointment files through the system share sheet
  • adding appointments to the device calendar
  • sharing a generated summary PDF, including optional adherence context
  • exporting hand steadiness records
  • opening phone, mail, or maps from doctor details

When you use one of these actions, the selected destination may then handle that information under its own privacy practices.

9. How long information stays in the app

The information you keep in MySweetCompanion stays on the device until you remove it, delete the app, or clear it through the controls available in the app or on the device.

If you export or share a file yourself, that copy may remain in the place you chose, outside MySweetCompanion.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as MySweetCompanion evolves. When changes are made, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
